How does a particular design come about? The inspiration for this 14 1/4" vase originated in the designer's love of music, the long necks of the bottles reminiscent of organ pipes. The colors were inspired by shimmering rainbows. Hand made and mouth blown in Sweden.

The Kappa series is mouth-blown and inspired by the bubble - or kappa, in Swedish - that spills over the edge of the mold during the production process. The Kappa vases, big and small, are a tribute to Kosta Boda's long artisanal history. The new mini vase comes in three shapes, heights, and colorways. A playful take on their predecessors. The Contrast series from Kosta Boda is manufactured using a technique called centrifugation. The technique, invented in Sweden's Kingdom of Crystal in the 1950s, creates veils of color inside the glass mass. In combination with the color powder and sticks added during the process, each piece becomes unique. The white/white vase is beautiful on its own, and even more so with your favorite flowers. The gorilla invites each viewer to make their own interpretation of its mystifying exterior. That it demands attention is nevertheless indisputable.
