Red Rim, Designed by Bertil Vallien, is hand-made in several steps. First, the first parison of crystal is rolled in powdered color. The color is then heated before the parison is blown into a shape that gives the molten glass its optical pattern. Clear glass is gathered over the parison to enclose the optical pattern in the glass, and then the glass is blown into its final form and shaped into a bowl or a vase. Finally, the piece is attached to a glass-blowing pipe and blown up a touch more before the red rim is applied from a color rod.

The Crackle collection is a tribute to cracks, beautifully preserved in glass. The intriguing design has a sculptural, expressive exterior that is created using an old craft technique, where the hot glass is dipped in ice-cold water. Crackle is mouth-blown in Kosta and designed by Åsa Jungnelius. This small vase is made of circular glass.

The Kappa series is mouth-blown and inspired by the bubble - or kappa, in Swedish - that spills over the edge of the mold during the production process. The Kappa vases, big and small, are a tribute to Kosta Boda's long artisanal history. The new mini vase comes in three shapes, heights, and colorways. A playful take on their predecessors.
