Kosta Boda

The Contrast series from Kosta Boda is manufactured using a technique called centrifugation. The technique, invented in Sweden's Kingdom of Crystal in the 1950s, creates veils of color inside the glass mass. In combination with the color powder and sticks added during the process, each piece becomes unique. The white/white vase is beautiful on its own, and even more so with your favorite flowers. With Mirage, the artist and designer Göran Wärff found inspiration from nature and light, especially in the reflection of light and optical illusions. The object is a sculpture, a vase, and an art piece, available in a wide range of colors. To create a spectacular object like Mirage, an angled pipe is used to form its distinctive curved shape. Mirage is handmade in Kosta, Sweden, and is part of the Kosta Boda Artist Collection.

It is made using a technique in which hot glass is cooled in ice-cold water. The meeting of the hot and cold produces a cracked surface. Septum is a spectacular art glass object by Mattias Stenberg, a well-known Swedish architect, and designer who has worked with Kosta Boda for many years. Drifter expresses simplicity and space with an encased figure in copper that flows freely in the boat. It is Bertil Vallien's latest formof boats including a black and white glass spiral to which he often returns. Drifter has a glass base that makes it stand firmly withoutadditional support.

The Crackle Bowl Tall Pink design is inspired by frozen ice that has just cracked. The design influence is from the convergence of hotglass and cold water that creates a crackled finish. The designer wanted to create a surface reminiscent of frozen, crusted ice. A crunchy, crackling feel. The techniqueis old, but the designer uses it in her own personal way.
