Kosta Boda

Red Rim, Designed by Bertil Vallien, is hand-made in several steps. First, the first parison of crystal is rolled in powdered color. The color is then heated before the parison is blown into a shape that gives the molten glass its optical pattern. Clear glass is gathered over the parison to enclose the optical pattern in the glass, and then the glass is blown into its final form and shaped into a bowl or a vase. Finally, the piece is attached to a glass-blowing pipe and blown up a touch more before the red rim is applied from a color rod.

The Crackle collection is a tribute to cracks, beautifully preserved in glass. The intriguing design has a sculptural, expressive exterior that is created using an old craft technique, where the hot glass is dipped in ice-cold water. Crackle is mouth-blown in Kosta and designed by Åsa Jungnelius. This small vase is made of circular glass.

Bertil Villain Brains Everything is Better When we Dance, L 1.77 x H 2.95 x W 2.17 inches is a Collector's item. Beril Villain created Brains as "an anti-stress object for the hand and the eye. To place at the desk, have it next to the bed and to bring along when traveling." The Brain is launched as "seeds of thoughts" or messages. Handmade and mouth-blown in Kosta, Sweden.
